Khajeh Nassir Toosi University of Technology is a public, higher educational institution in Tehran, Iran. The university was founded in 1928 and was named the “Institute of communication”. This institute was merged with eight other institutes in 1979 to form a university complex known as K. N. Toosi University of technology. There are currently eleven faculties within the university including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. There are around 7200 students enrolling every year. The university is also known for its research activities and industrial projects. The university offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degrees and runs three research centers. It also hosts more than five joint educational programs at B.S. and M.S. levels. In April 2016 the Times Higher Education Supplement put the university as one of the top 8 universities in Iran.
