HIGHER EDUCATION IN EGYPT
Egypt has the largest overall education system in the Middle East and North Africa and it has grown rapidly since the early 1990s. In recent years the Government of Egypt has accorded even greater priority in improving the education system. Egypt has nowadays 20 public universities and 23 private universities, which represent more than two million students. The Al-Azhar system is an educational parallel system supervised by the Supreme Council of the Al-Azhar Institution. These schools are named Institutes, and offered all the degrees. The students are all Muslim, and the schools and universities are mostly in rural areas. It’s an Islamic institution created in 998.
